How to focus on this call

The secret to focus on this call is to remember to rest before the call.

Some days, you might get one call after another, one email after another, and one high priority ticket after another. And while you are dealing with it, your boss might walk in and ask you for the status of a different ticket. This is a very difficult situation to be in, and it is easy to lose your cool.

And yet, it is possible to take a short rest.

Before you pick up the next call, watch your breath. Just one breath. Focus on watching your breath going in, and your breath going out. For those 6 seconds, forget everything else.

These few seconds of rest will help you calm down, forget whatever else is happening and focus on the caller who is now calling you.

And if you are focussed, you will be able to understand the caller's problem faster and more easily, and you will be able to find the best solution.
